Brokeland Records

Micheal Chabon's new book Telegraph Ave. fascinates me. The concept of the book is two guys who own a record store that sells only old jazz vinyl records. The store is located on Telegraph Ave. at the border of Berkley and Oakland.

Michael Krasny talked to Michael Chabon about his book Telegraph Ave on KQED's Forum on Sept 11. Listen to the archive @

To celebrate the publication of this book Diesel Books in Oakland convert their store into Brokeland Records for a week.

Here is some photos from my visit to this store with my friend Jerry and myself:

Los Bunkers at Brick and Mortar

This post somehow got lost in the web ether. It is from Los Bunker concert at the Brick and Mortar in San Francisco on August 3, 2011.

Great concert with Los Bunkers at the Brick and Mortar. The best part was that they played a great mix of their earlier classics like "No Me Hables de Sufrir", "Miño", & "Las Cosas Que Cambié y Dejé Por Ti" along with favorites from their more recent 3 albums like "Te Viste y Te Vas", "Mientele", "Tu", "Ven Aqui", "Ahora Que No Esta", "Llueve Sobre La Cuidad", "Una Nube Cuelga Sobre Mi", "Nada Nueve Bajo El Sol", "Y Volveré", "El Necio", "Quien Fuera", y "Un Angel Para Un Final".

Update from Webmaster

I apologize to all of the followers of this blog but I have not posted in a very long time.

To be honest the true of the matter is that I had some family issue to deal with. My dad got diagnosed with Alzhiemers last year and that has taken quite a bit of time away from my post. These post take a bit of time to do. I like to really stop and think about what I am writing and the photos and art I use.

I have been posting much smaller post on my twitter acccount. I hope you will take the time to visit my twitter, read back over my past posts and any new I post at:
